Rochdale make most of break with unofficial RLWC2013 taster

Rugby League stalwarts Rochdale Hornets who currently play in Co-operative Championship 1 are using the up-coming break in the UK’s domestic Rugby League schedule to promote RLWC2013.

To celebrate both the club’s history and promote the Fiji v Ireland RLWC2013 fixture, the Hornets Under 23s are to take on a ‘Fiji UK’ side.

The Fiji UK team is organised by Gateshead Thunder and former South Sydney prop Tabua Cakacaka.

Cakacka has pulled together the best of the Fijians currently playing Rugby League and even Rugby Union across the UK, so the game promises to be a real challenge for the young Hornets side.

The game takes place on Saturday June 23 2012 at Kingsway Sports Centre, just a few hundred yards from the old historical home of Hornets. The game kicks off at 6pm and will be a fantastic celebration of Rochdale Rugby League History and all the fantastic links the club and indeed the town has with Fiji. The game is sponsored by Red Tree International a local business.
